This dataset contains child-level data from Sample 2 of a longitudinal study examining math anxiety, math interest, math confidence, and math performance in early elementary school children in the United States. Participants were [N] children in [grade range, e.g., kindergarten through 3rd grade], with data collected across two waves ([2017–2019]). Math performance was assessed at both Time 1 (STmathw1) and Time 2 (STmathw2); math anxiety, interest, and confidence were assessed at Time 1.
All continuous variables are provided in standardized form. The dataset includes standardized parcel scores for the focal constructs: math anxiety (two parcels: physiological and worry), math interest (two parcels), and math confidence (two parcels), each computed as the mean of its constituent survey items and then standardized. Demographic and covariate variables include standardized student age (in months) and student gender. Gender is coded such that girls are the positive value (−1.01 = boy, 0.99 = girl). A Year 1 teacher identifier (teacherid_YEAR1) is included to support modeling of the clustering of students within classrooms.

Are these data unique or derived? ? If data were collected specifically for this project and are not stored in a slightly different form elsewhere, they are unique. If these data combine or use data from other datasets, they are derived
