Dataset: LK2_Public_School_mmddyy [v.1]

This dataset includes school-level information for participating elementary schools and is identified using a unique school ID to support linkage with classroom-, teacher-, and student-level datasets. School characteristics were primarily collected via the Teacher Fall Survey and supplemented with publicly available administrative data.
Note on Free and Reduced Lunch (FARL) Data in the Northeast Research Site: During the COVID-19 period, students in public schools within this research site were eligible for free meals under federal and state waivers. As a result, FARL participation rates for schools in this research site during this period may not reflect individual student socioeconomic status and should be interpreted as a policy-driven indicator rather than a measure of economic disadvantage.
The study included three recruitment cohorts: Cohort 1 (2021–2022), Cohort 2 (2022–2023), and Cohort 3 (2023–2024). In the study ID protocol, the value “3” was originally reserved to indicate a school attended after a participant moved following study entry. This category was never utilized, but the numbering structure was retained to preserve consistency in participant IDs, student IDs, school IDs and data management procedures. As a result, Cohort 3 is coded as “4” in the dataset.
