Document: ELKS Explicit Phoneme Segmentation Task

This task can be used to evaluate educators' ability to segment the individual sounds in words while ignoring orthographic representation. It requires examinees to select, from a list of ten words, the words that contain only three phonemes. One point is awarded for each correct selection and one point is awarded for each correct non-selection. Raw score is total number of points (max = 10). Raw scores can be converted to percent correct.
