Project: GIS-derived Contextual Predictors of Mental Health: A Meta-Analysis

The goal of this study is to determine whether GIS-derived contextual predictors are significantly associated with mental health outcomes. A secondary goal is to characterize the range of GIS-derived contextual predictors used in the literature and to evaluate their relative predictive utility across domains such as socioeconomic context, health-related factors, and environmental exposures. To address these aims, we will conduct a meta-analysis by identifying all existing studies that report correlations between GIS-derived contextual predictors and mental health outcomes. We will estimate weighted average correlational effect sizes across all outcomes, as well as within outcome categories. In addition, we will examine several potential moderators of these associations.
