Project entry for a small software tool used when research notes are drafted with an AI assistant and then need to live in Microsoft Word (for co-author review, tracked changes, or a journal or grant template).
What the tool does: ChatGPT2Word takes an answer copied from ChatGPT (or any Markdown text) and produces an editable .docx file. Markdown headings become Word heading styles, pipe tables become real Word tables, fenced code blocks stay monospaced, LaTeX such as $...$ or \(...\) becomes editable Word equations, and Mermaid diagram blocks are rendered as images.
Why it may matter for data documentation: codebooks, variable descriptions, analysis plans and methods paragraphs are often drafted as Markdown tables and formulas. Pasting them straight into Word usually leaves pipe characters and raw LaTeX that have to be retyped by hand.
Privacy: the conversion runs in the web browser; the pasted text is not uploaded to a server.
