This project consisted of a randomized controlled trial of a tutor- and computer-delivered inferential comprehension intervention for middle school students with reading difficulties. The small-group inferential comprehension intervention named Connecting Text through Inference and Technology (Connect-IT) was delivered by tutors or via a computer and these conditions were compared with the effects of school's baseline as usual (BAU) literacy interventions in 6th to 8th grade students.
NOTE: In collaboration with the listed PIs, the data from this project were also included as part of a large, integrated dataset for the IDARE project funded by NIH (R01HD110533). IDARE is focused on K-12th grade supplemental reading interventions, with a primary goal of investigating racial differences in the effectiveness of reading intervention.
