This short course, Data Management for Data Sharing in Learning and Development Research, is designed to provide targeted training that addresses the specific data management and data sharing needs and concerns of child learning and development researchers.
This training will prepare you to manage quantitative research data across the entire project life cycle. Topics covered include How to structure your dataset, best practices in data collection, data documentation, data cleaning, data de-identification, and data sharing.

Am I eligible? Attendees must have a PhD, be a US citizen or permanent resident, and be working in the field of learning and human development. Researchers can be either new or established investigators
Dates: August 5 to 9, 2024 (from 9am to 5pm each day). Accepted applicants will be expected to attend in person the full five days of the workshop. During the intensive, there will be 30 hours of direct instruction and 10 hours of structured time for practice and individualized support.
After the summer intensive, additional learning activities will be available throughout the year through a virtual community of practice. This will include a faculty-monitored Q/A forum and optional webinars, breakout groups, and office hour meeting with program faculty.
There is no cost for the workshop, but you will need to fund your travel, accommodations, and meals. There are several hotels within walking distance of campus. We will provide breakfast and lunch during the workshop for a fee. The exact cost is still being determined, but we estimate it to be approximately $300 per person.
Five applicants will be granted $1,000 for travel support, with priority given to applicants from historically marginalized backgrounds.
