This meta-analysis aims at examining whether statistically significant differences in EF exist between bilingual and monolingual individuals, as well as estimating the potential moderators of such differences. In addition, we evaluated whether studies that matched bilingual and monolingual groups on key confounding variables, such as IQ, bilingual status, language proficiency, and socioeconomic status.
