The Meta-analysis of Educational RCTs with Follow-up (MERF) dataset was created to investigate critical questions about educational intervention fadeout and persistence. The sample is comprised of interventions targeting a diverse array of child outcomes across development (e.g. nurse-home visiting, preschool, elementary-level curriculum, and adolescent substance use prevention). Studies from eight published meta-analyses were screened for inclusion in the MERF sample. To be included, studies had to use randomized control design with treatment impacts measured on cognitive and/or social-emotional skills at least six months after intervention end. To examine intervention impact persistence, the sample is organized such that intervention impacts on the same construct evaluated using the same measure are linked across post-test and follow-up assessments.
