Project
Description: This research addresses a conundrum: Why do twice as many boys as girls receive services to treat Developmental Language Disorder when community samples reveal gender parity in the prevalence of the condition?
Project
Description: The Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk (MCPER) partnered with the University of Houston, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Texas A&M University, and Florida State University to improve the reading comprehension of students in grades 7 through 12.
Project
Description: Mathematical thinking is in high demand in the global market, but approximately six percent of school-age children across the globe experience math difficulties (Shalev, et al., 2000).
Dataset
Part of Project: The Home Math Environment and Children's Math Achievment: A Meta-Analysis
Description: The data are in long form, with some studies having multiple lines and includes a sample of children ranging from 3.54 to 13.75 years old. The main effect size is the r, correlation coefficient, and the accompanying sample size is also included.
Dataset
Part of Project: Speech and language skills in children with nonsyndromic cleft palate with or without cleft lip
Description: These data are descriptive codes for the studies included in the meta-analysis. There are 31 studies. Data are presented in wide format. There are 34 variables.
Dataset
Part of Project: Speech and language skills in children with nonsyndromic cleft palate with or without cleft lip
Description: These data represent effect sizes comparing children with NSCP/L to non-cleft peers. There are 241 effect sizes from 31 studies. Children's ages ranged from 13-months to 104-months (8;7). The data are in long format as there were multiple effect sizes extracted per study.
Dataset
Part of Project: Speech and language skills in children with nonsyndromic cleft palate with or without cleft lip
Description: These data are from our third meta-analysis project. The speech-vocabulary analysis represented eight samples and the speech-mlu analysis represented four samples. The ages ranged from 18-months to 39-months.
Dataset
Part of Project: Promoting Adolescents’ Comprehension of Text (PACT)
Description: In the 2013-14 school year, two PACT social studies RCTs were conducted, both with Grade 8 students. One study focused on schools with a higher percentage of English learners. The second study focused on struggling readers and provided a more intensified version of the PACT program.
Dataset
Part of Project: Promoting Adolescents’ Comprehension of Text (PACT)
Description: Students were in Grades 8 enrolled in general education social studies or in Grades 7-12 and enrolled in general education English/language arts classes. Data were collected using measures of reading and other academic skills, attitudes, and student characteristics. All students participated for one school year only.
Dataset
Part of Project: Promoting Adolescents’ Comprehension of Text (PACT)
Description: Students were in Grades 8 or 11 and enrolled in general education social studies or in Grades 7-12 and enrolled in general education English/language arts classes. Data were collected using measures of reading and other academic skills, attitudes, and student characteristics. All students participated for one school year only.
Dataset
Part of Project: Promoting Adolescents’ Comprehension of Text (PACT)
Description: The Vocabulary and Comprehension (VoCo) project was a small study involving 44 struggling readers in Grade 9. The treatment was a multicomponent reading intervention delivered over 80 sessions during one school year. Data on measures of reading comprehension and fluency were collected at pre-test and post-test.
Dataset
Part of Project: Promoting Adolescents’ Comprehension of Text (PACT)
Description: Students were in Grade 11 enrolled in general education social studies or in Grades 7-12 and enrolled in general education English/language arts classes. Data were collected using measures of reading and other academic skills, attitudes, and student characteristics. All students participated for one school year only.

Code
Home Math Environment and Children's Math Achievement Meta-Analysis R code using the Metafor package
Part of Project: The Home Math Environment and Children's Math Achievment: A Meta-Analysis
Description: This code was written in R version 3.5.3 using the metafor package (Viechtbauer, 2010). First the dataset is called in, then the variables are converted to the correct formats for analysis, then the escalc() function is used to calculate an overall Fisher's Z effect size, which is then converted to an R correlation coefficient.
Code Type: Analysis
Code
Part of Project: Speech and language skills in children with nonsyndromic cleft palate with or without cleft lip
Description: This code analyzes the "Project 1 - Speech and Language Skills in Young Children with Nonsyndromic Cleft Palate with or without Cleft Lip" data for descriptive counts, main effect sizes, impact of potential moderators, and publication bias. This code also visualizations this dataset with corresponding funnel plots.
Code Type: Analysis, Visualization
Code
Part of Project: Speech and language skills in children with nonsyndromic cleft palate with or without cleft lip
Description: This code is the R code for determining the average correlation between (1) consonant inventory and expressive vocabulary and (2) consonant inventory and mean length of utterance. This code includes the meta-analyses and publication bias tests.
Code Type: Analysis
